Man punishes stepson with paintball gun

June 3, 2010

Indianapolis police say they have arrested a man who used a paintball gun to punish his stepson for not doing his chores.
Asagai Allen-Barton, who lives in the 3200 block of Remington Drive, disciplined his 10-year-old stepson by shooting him numerous
times in the arms, legs, stomach and back. Officers said the boy was covered in red marks and bruises. Allen-Barton was arrested
on a preliminary charge of battery.

Father accused of leaving son alone

An Indianapolis father is accused of leaving his 9-year-old son alone in a motel room for six hours so he could get drunk
with other motel guests. Officers found 39-year-old Steven Lavoy drinking in the parking lot of the Dollar Inn on the city's
southwest side. A woman staying at the motel called police when the boy knocked on her door, saying he couldn’t find
his father and was scared.

A former Indianapolis funeral director is facing 14 felony charges for corrupt business influence, forgery and theft after
a grand jury investigation.

Ex-policeman charged with arson

June 3, 2010

A former Indianapolis police officer suspected of setting a series of fires in apartments and vehicles has been charged with
six counts of arson. The charges filed Wednesday accuse 31-year-old Jesse Russell of setting fires in clubhouses of two apartment
complexes and in a vacant apartment in a third complex. Marion County prosecutors also say Russell set fire to a box truck
and the "Chicken Limo." Fox59 will have more at 4 p.m.
