White House officials to meet in Kokomo-WEB ONLY

Two high-ranking White House officials will be in Kokomo today to talk with auto workers, small-business owners and labor officials about the crisis gripping the automobile industry. Hoosier students in spelling bee semifinals-WEB ONLY

Two Hoosiers have made it to the semifinal round of the 82nd Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. Eighth-graders Vaibhav Vavilala of Carmel and Kennyi Aouad of Terre Haute are among 41 spellers competing for a spot in tonight’s finals. The event’s reigning champion is also a Hoosier: 13-year-old Sameer Mishra of West Lafayette.

All Mississinewa schools in Grant County were put on a two-hour delay this morning after school buses were vandalized. At least one source said someone let the air out of the bus tires, but that account has not been confirmed by school officials.
