A Lizton man was shot to death Wednesday at a west-side apartment complex in a possible robbery attempt. James Vester, 23, was shot about 4 p.m. at Wyckford Commons, near West 10th Street and North Girls School Road. Indianapolis police say Vester might have been trying to buy an iPad in a setup. Two suspects fled the scene on foot.>

A 19-year-old Indianapolis man was shot to death early Monday at the Warren Harbor apartment complex, near East 21st Street and North Post Road. Police discovered the body of Connor Lee in a hallway shortly after being called to the scene about 12:40 a.m. Police say they have a witness to the shooting, but no suspect in custody.

Indianapolis police are investigating the discovery of a body outside an apartment complex on the northeast side. The dead male was found on a sidewalk next to a creek by a maintenance worker at about 9 a.m. in the 4200 block of Stratford Court, near 42nd Street and Post Road. An autopsy is pending.

A man found suffering from a gunshot wound at a west-side Indianapolis apartment complex was taken to Wishard Hospital in serious condition early Tuesday morning. Michael Lauray, 23, was discovered about 1 a.m. in the 5800 block of Magdalene Drive, at Westlake Apartments, but detectives aren’t sure if he was shot at the site. Police said they have no witnesses or suspects.

Man crashes SUV into apartments

An Indianapolis man was taken into custody just after 7:30 p.m. Monday after he crashed his sport-utility vehicle into Forest Ridge Apartments on the far north side of the city. Terry Rowe, 53, was heading west on Wheatgrass Way before he drove into four apartment units, causing an estimated $50,000 in damage. Rowe and numerous residents were uninjured. Police didn’t cite a reason for the crash.

Owner of apartments to fix gas leaks

The owners of an Anderson apartment complex closed because of natural gas leaks have agreed with city officials on repair plans to reopen its 96 units. Anderson building commissioner Frank Owens says he believes the owners of Arbor Village Apartments understand what work is needed and that they've invested enough in the complex to not walk away. Officials ordered residents to leave on Dec. 5 after small leaks were found in all five of the complex's buildings.
