suit in Hamilton County this month to enforce a deal with Swiss pharmaceutical and medical-equipment powerhouse

Airport parking strategy might cut garage rates while still boosting revenue

July 28, 2008

Busy touting restaurants, artwork and other luxuries of the $1.1 billion midfield terminal, the Indianapolis Airport Authority
is still grappling with a few details arguably more important to passengers. Among them: How much will it cost to park? The
answer might be among the more surprising aspects of midfield. Officials are considering slashing rates
for the 5,900-space successor to Indianapolis International’s existing 1,776-space garage.

WellPoint expected to look for growth overseas

July 28, 2008

its health benefits and services.

July 28, 2008

Several landmark commercial properties fronting Interstate 465 on the northeast side could be in the path of bulldozers
when the state begins adding lanes as early as 2012. Memos prepared by a consulting firm to the Indiana
Department of Transportation go as far as estimating acquisition prices for buildings, including that of
country station WFMS-FM 95.5 and other Cumulus Media stations at 6810 N. Shadeland Ave.

SPORTS: In hiring as in knee surgery, timing is everything

July 21, 2008

Of this, that and the other: Timing, as they say, is everything. The University of Notre Dame lost its athletic director, Kevin White, to Duke University on June 1 and has been actively engaged in identifying his successor. A couple of weeks later, Indiana University announced its athletic director, Rick Greenspan, would resign but serve in lameduck status until the end of the year. Somewhere in the middle of those circumstances was Indianapolis attorney Jack Swarbrick, a Bloomington native but…

Once-thriving tennis tournament struggles to stay relevant

July 21, 2008

A dearth of name players, slumping attendance and an outdated venue have some in the local tennis community wondering if the
Indianapolis Tennis Championships–formerly known as the RCA Championships–needs some serious re-stringing. Attendance at
the nine-day event, which ran July 12-20 this year, was on pace through July 16 to be at a 20-year low.
But attendance is far from the tournament’s only challenge.

CMG Worldwide takes tussle over vintage baseball cards to court

July 21, 2008

New York Yankees first baseman Lou Gehrig died in 1941 of a disease that came to bear his name. Six years later, second baseman
Jackie Robinson famously broke through baseball’s color barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers, earning the league minimum $5,000.
He died in 1972. Mark Roesler believes the best earning years still lie ahead for both legendary players, as well as many
others like them. But first he must untangle their image rights in federal court in Indianapolis.
