Goshen-based Wieland Designs Inc., a manufacturer of furniture and transportation interior components, announced on Tuesday morning that it plans to add 120 jobs by 2015.
The company in northeastern Indiana said it will invest $1 million to improve existing facilities and purchase specialized machinery to enhance production at its 210,000-square-foot facility.
Wieland Designs, which has 146 employees, will begin hiring additional sewing operators as well as manufacturing and administrative workers later this month.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. said it will provide Wieland Designs up to $1.3 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company’s job-creation plans. The city of Goshen will consider additional property-tax abatements.
Founded in 1976, Wieland Designs began as a manufacturer of automotive seats for the van-conversion industry. The company since has expanded to design and manufacture furniture and components for the corporate, health care, residential, automotive and airline industries.
