This car was nearly buried by snow during the blizzard of 1978. From Jan. 25-27, about 15-1/2 inches of snow fell on the city, on top of 5 inches from an earlier storm. Most forms of transportation came to a halt, and Indianapolis International Airport was closed for a record three days. Snow drifts reached heights of more than 10 feet, and a snow emergency was declared for the state and for the city of Indianapolis.
