I’ve voted “yes” for the last two IPS referendums but this next one’s going to be a hard sell and a “probably not” for me this time around. IPS and its leadership simply has not delivered on the past two. Throwing good money towards bad….again?? Questionable leadership and bureaucracy — I’ve no confidence in their mission and methods. I don’t think they do either. There are so many failed children. Depending how you measure success?: Big “F” if you use the simple yardstick of enrollment? More than 100,000 IPS students 30-40 years ago, depending on the metrics, it’s below 20,000 now. Good communities need good PUBLIC schools. We don’t have that. Blow it up and start over.
+1
Dissolve IPS and create a new school system. it is broken and they can’t fix it. Indianapolis needs real leadership that can get something done.
Only if this move also eliminates independent charters. What should be done is what should have been done with Unigov: Merge the school system into Marion County Public Schools.
If independent charters can get referendum money, then it’s going to be a “no” vote from me.
