Boy, 15, shot in chest

September 5, 2013

Indianapolis police are seeking three suspects after a 15-year-old boy was shot in the chest about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on the city’s west side. The victim was hospitalized in critical condition after the shooting in the 700 block of Concord Street, near 10th Street and Tibbs Avenue. Police are seeking two men and a 17-year-old girl. Police say the victim and his father were helping a neighbor in a domestic disturbance before the incident.

Police seek missing Fishers girl

Police believe a missing 8-year-old Fishers girl has been abducted by her mother and taken to Louisville. Indiana State Police issued an Amber Alert for Sophia Snow at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday. Police say the mother, Jennifer Ansari, 37, may have taken the girl after losing custody to her ex-husband.
 

Man critical after beating

September 4, 2013

Indianapolis police took two people into custody Wednesday shortly after 6 a.m. following an attack that left a man with critical injuries. Police found the victim, who they believe was beaten, near 16th Street and Hawthorne Lane. They were able to track down the suspects near 21st Street and Arlington Avenue going through a white Mercedes. One of the suspects led police on a chase across rooftops before he was apprehended.
 

Crash kills 2 in Madison County

September 4, 2013

Two people died and three others were injured in a head-on crash between two vehicles about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on State Road 9 in Madison County, just north of Alexandria. At least one person was trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed. Information about the injuries suffered by survivors wasn't immediately released.
 

Lilly drug royalties spark lawsuit against Princeton

Residents in Princeton, N.J., have sued the municipality and Princeton University, saying the school should lose its tax-exempt status because it shares drug royalties with faculty. The case could have major repercussions for research universities.

A $23,000 loan allowed Patrick's Kitchen in downtown Zionsville to reopen on solid financial footing after a fire last year. Now organizers of the town's fledgling microloan program are looking for other businesses to help.
