Man leaps from car to escape gunmen
A man said he was robbed at gunpoint and held hostage in a car early Friday morning, and had to jump from the moving vehicle to escape his captors. Indianapolis police say the man was held hostage in a white Pontiac Grand Prix before escaping near Kentucky Avenue and Holt Road at about 4 a.m. Police located the suspects’ car near Troy Avenue and Mars Hill Street. Three males were questioned.
Five stabbed over parking incident
Five men suffered stab wounds Thursday night during a disturbance over a parking issue on the southwest side of Indianapolis. The incident, which occurred in the 1300 block of Kappes Street at about 10 p.m., involved at least a dozen men and women. The stabbing victims were ages 17 to 20. All but one lived in the immediate area. Two are listed in critical condition, but all are expected to survive.
Man killed during home robbery
A 48-year-old Indianapolis man was shot to death during a residential robbery at 4:50 a.m. Friday. Police say two men armed with handguns entered the residence at 660 Birch Ave. on the near-southwest side and confined about four people during the course of the robbery. The victim, Nicholas Toliver, apparently tried to flee and was shot in the back as he left the house. The suspects, described as black males wearing dark clothing and masks, fled. Fox59 will have more at 4 p.m.
