Mayor pushing plan to use city funds to upgrade Natatorium

Mayor Greg Ballard is proposing to pay about half of the $20 million needed to upgrade the Natatorium at IUPUI. The city's Capital Improvement Board is also considering setting aside tax revenue for operation expenses.

Truck driver crashes into house

November 26, 2013

A truck driver fell asleep at the wheel and drove into the living room of a Mooresville family’s home Tuesday at about 2:30 a.m. The incident occurred in the 4300 block of Allison Road, near U.S. 67. No injuries were reported. Police say the truck missed a bedroom where people were sleeping by about 6 feet.

Fishers police seek gunman

October 22, 2013

Fishers police are seeking a man who tried to rob a homeowner just before 7 a.m. in a neighborhood west of Allisonville Road between 96th and 106th streets. The suspect, who wore a black hoodie, approached the victim at his mailbox, said he had a gun, and demanded cash. He fled the scene when he discovered the resident had no money. Police closed several roads in the area during the search, and put two schools and a retirement home on lockdown.

-Chocolate for the Spirit leased 1,200 square feet of retail space at 301 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel. The landlord, Carmel-301 LLC, was represented by Kevin Dick and Paul Dick of Colliers International. The tenant represented itself.

-Kitchen Masters leased 1,154 square feet at Greendale Shopping Center, 789 U.S. 31 North, Greenwood. The tenant was represented by Michael Cranfill of Sitehawk Retail Real Estate. The landlord, Greendale LLC, was represented by Dean Almas of Sitehawk Retail Real Estate.
 
-Dottie Couture leased 950 square feet of retail space at Five River Crossing, 8558 N. River Road. The tenant was represented by Allison Hawley of Niessink Commercial. The landlord, an affiliate of PK Partners, represented itself.

IUPUI seeks financial help to overhaul Natatorium

Indiana University officials are seeking $17 million to $20 million to upgrade the Natatorium on the IUPUI campus and are considering turning day-to-day operations of the aquatics venue over to a third party.
