  1. I always felt like Dollar Tree acquiring Family Dollar was a weird acquisition.

    DT targets a specific, very cheap price point for individual items. Often using generic brands or stuff they get through some type of wholesale clearance. Sometimes you’d even find store-brands from Kroger, CVS, etc… in their selections.

    While Family Dollar isn’t actually that cheap. Their prices are often marked up compared to grocery stores and Wal-Mart, especially when you consider the quantity you receive.
