  1. What a wonderful Restsurant and a beautiful building and interior.. the food is always fabulous. Every server we ever had, was so kind. The problem night be advertising .. many know nothing about it.. I’d hope they found hire a new Ad firm and if people knew about this incredible place, they’d be busy every night. I hope the try this as losing R & B would be a big loss.

  2. Possibly partly due to a lack of enough parking spaces? I know the Redline severely screwed up College as far as on street parking goes. They did the samething to Shelby St.

    1. This is absolutely ridiculous to insinuate. The restaurant opened after the Red Line and there is abundant street parking on 46th and a large (and free!) surface lot just across the street.

    2. If the food is good enough, people will go regardless of the parking.

It was fine when I dined there but the direction of the brand hasn’t been positive for a few years now. For Luke, at least it lasted longer than their foray into being the local franchisee of Tim Horton’s which was embarrassing.

    3. They have a parking lot. And the lot across the street is a parking lot. And the church shares their parking lot. And there’s lots of on-street parking remaining, even after the Red Line.

I swear to god, some people won’t be happy until Indianapolis is just one big parking lot.

  3. All the makings of a successful venture…. Walkable area, plentiful parking, on a transit line, nice building/decor, good food… perfectly illustrating the problematic economics of restaurants and coffee shops. The smart money says it won’t ever return to the pre-pandemic model. Thus leaving such ventures desperately seeking ways to enhance revenue thru the current out of control tipping and hidden fee culture (not necessarily a reflection on R&B, which I can’t speak to). The times, they are a changin’.

  4. I’m sad to see them go, but I’ve noticed it hasn’t been as busy lately as it used to be. The food and service were indeed delightful, and the parking was unaffected by the Red Line. In talking among ourselves about why we hadn’t been there for a while, we realized it was the pricing. We treated it as a special occasion-only restaurant. Maybe that could have been solved (cost-wise) with smaller portions, since I never remember anyone at our table finishing everything.
