Carmel resident David Wasilewski has launched WhatNext, a website that uses algorithms to make it easier for cancer patients to connect with others in similar circumstances. Wasilewski, 39, spent eight years as chief operating officer of the Spanx line of body shapers and did health care consulting before that. In addition to helping patients, he thinks WhatNext can become a way for health care organizations share their expertise with patients in need.

Land gift preserves 40 acres in Indianapolis suburbs

The donation to the Central Indiana Land Trust comes from farmer Van Eller, who lived most of his life on the land now surrounded by Fishers and Carmel subdivisions before he died last year at age 89.

IU Health reports most serious medical errors

Indiana’s largest and busiest medical system committed 19 preventable errors last year at its hospitals in Indianapolis and other cities, three fewer than in 2009, according to a report released Monday.

-Carmel Pointe LLC bought Meijer Shops of Carmel, a 10,608-square-foot retail property at 1430 W. Carmel Drive, for $3.25 million. The buyer and seller, Terre Carmel East LLC, were both represented by Jordan Klink and Kahlil Barnard of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services.

-ALDI purchased 2.6 acres of retail land at 2382 E. Main St., Plainfield. The price wasn’t disclosed. The buyer was represented by Jim Abel of Lee & Associates. The seller, Galyan Enterprises LLC, was represented by Tim Norton and Jeff Merritt of Summit Realty Group.

Health insurers push comparison shopping

Downtown’s Nestle Inn under new ownership

Nearly 12 years after opening Nestle Inn Bed & Breakfast, Steve and Barb Tegarden decided to sell the business at 637 N. East St. to marketing and hospitality veteran Leesa Smith and her husband.
