BMV says drivers owe $130M in uncollected fees

Elizabeth Murphy, general counsel for the BMV, told lawmakers at a meeting of the Interim Study Committee on Insurance that uncollected fees have averaged anywhere from $11 million to $13 million annually over the past few years.

The average rate for 30-year mortgages rose from 4.57 to 4.74 percent for the week ended Aug. 21, according to Bankrate.com. The rate for 15-year mortgages rose from 3.61 percent to 3.75 percent.

Man seeks date, gets carjacked

August 23, 2013

An Indianapolis man attempting to meet a woman he had just met on Facebook said he was robbed and carjacked on the city’s west side early Friday morning. The 24-year-old man said he drove from the far-east side to meet the woman at a home on Corwyn Road. When he arrived, the woman greeted him and told him to move his car to another spot, where he was jumped by two armed men who took his phone, $400 in cash and 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
 

Police investigate abduction claim

August 23, 2013

Indianapolis police are investigating an attempted abduction after a 20-year-old woman said two people tried to pull her into a van on the north side. The woman said she was walking home Friday just after midnight from a Marsh Supermarket along Ditch Road south of 86th Street. A man and a woman in a dark van began following her and pulled beside her several times. The woman in the van grabbed her from the window, but she was able to run away.
 

Anderson man acquitted of murder

August 23, 2013

Adam Layne, 27, of Anderson has been acquitted of murder charges in a fatal stabbing he says happened in self-defense during a fight. A Madison County judge announced the jury's verdict Thursday, eight months after Layne was arrested in the December death of 23-year-old Willie Rumph. Layne said he stabbed Rumph to protect himself and his family after Rumph forced his way into their home and demanded drug money owed him by one of Layne's relatives.

The landlord, Fidelity Office Building II LP, was represented by Mike Napariu of REI Investments Inc.

-Tish Flooring leased 10,078 square feet of industrial space at 4625 W. 86th St. The tenant was represented by Mark Perlstein of Sitehawk Retail Real Estate. The landlord, North By Northwest AB Biynah LLC, was represented by Michael Weishaar and Todd Vannatta of Cassidy Turley.

-Minnick Services Corp. leased 5,600 square feet of industrial space at 2525 N. Shadeland Ave. The tenant was represented by Mark Writt of CBRE. The landlord, 2525 Shadeland LLC, was represented by Michael Weishaar and Todd Vannatta of Cassidy Turley.

-American Society of Clinical Pathology leased 3,178 square feet at 8900 Keystone Crossing. The tenant was represented by Sean Reynolds of Jones Lang LaSalle. -It's All Greek To Me Restaurant leased a 2,520-square-foot free-standing building formally occupied by Donato’s Pizza at 3530 Mann Road. The tenant was represented by Paul Rogozinski of Veritas Realty. The landlord, Donatos Pizza Realty LLC, was represented by Jeff Hubley of Midland Atlantic.

-Andreina Vitto DDS leased 2,261 square feet at Olio Pavilion, 11630 Olio Road, Fishers. The tenant was represented by Matt Jackson of Jackson Investment Group LLC. The landlord, Olio Pavilion, was represented by Keith Fried of Sitehawk Retail Real Estate.  

-World Finance leased 1,900 square feet of retail space in Honey Creek Plaza, 3835 Moller Road. The tenant was represented by Seth Biggerstaff of Veritas Realty. The landlord, Trustco Development Co., was represented by Drew Kelly of Sandor Development Co.

The seller, New HB Acquisition (TS) LLC, was represented by Creighton Shook and Luke Householder of Coldwell Banker Commercial Realty Services.
