Police seek west-side robber

Indianapolis police are looking for someone in connection with at least two armed robberies on the west side. On Thursday morning, a man robbed a Village Pantry near Lynhurst and Minnesota street, about a half-mile from a gas station that was robbed Wednesday morning. Police are looking for a stocky black man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and a black bandana.

Indiana soldier killed in helicopter crash

September 23, 2010

A Hoosier soldier was among those killed in a helicopter crash Tuesday in Afghanistan. Sgt. Marvin R. Calhoun Jr., 23, of Elkhart died when the Blackhawk helicopter he was in went down in southern Afghanistan. Calhoun was among nine U.S. servicemen who died in the crash. Taliban leaders are claiming that they shot down the helicopter.
