State-by-state comparisons ranking residents’ satisfaction levels are gaining traction in economic development circles. While rankings do not drive site-selection decisions, they do play a role.
Clarian Health is planning to build a bed tower at Methodist Hospital in a massive project that shows renewed
commitment
to the downtown campus. The tower would have 175 to 250 beds and allow Methodist to make all its rooms private.
The Mass Ave. restaurant is set to become Mesh, which will feature a more casual atmosphere and menu, as well as a new operator who will
lease the space
from the building’s owners.

Renovation of apartment building owned by the Indianapolis Housing Agency will have to wait, after it failed to receive the
necessary federal backing to fund it. Three other IHA projects, including Caravelle Commons, will move forward, however.
City agency plans renovations, expansions at eight apartment properties.
The largest tax credit deal in state history will fund the rehabilitation of 538 apartments in four complexes owned
by the Indianapolis Housing Agency.

A proposal to add optional toll lanes to parts of Interstates 69 and 65 raises all kinds of questions, such as how to squeeze
more lanes into the crowded I-69 corridor northeast of the city. And it’s debatable whether toll lanes could make more
money than they cost to implement.
