Prostitution arrest made at Fishers spa

July 24, 2013

A woman was arrested Tuesday on a charge of prostitution following an undercover sting at a Fishers spa. Rui Qing Xie, 56, was taken into custody at the Relax Spa, 7245 Fishers Landing Drive, near 116th Street and Allisonville Road. Police said they had received several complaints about possible prostitution activity at the spa before the bust.
 

Local firms team up to buy North Meridian office building

REI Real Estate Services LLC and Perennial Investments say that together they'll invest about $1 million in hopes of getting the office building at 550 Congressional Blvd. fully leased.

-Hustler Turf leased 38,688 square feeet at Franklin Road Distribution Center, 221 S. Franklin Road. The tenant was represented by JD Graves of CBRE. The landlord, DCT Industrial Trust Inc., was represented by Jeremy Woods and Andrea Hopper of Summit Realty Group.

-Ernst & Young renewed its lease for 35,661 square feet in Chase Tower. The tenant was represented by Denice Michel and Michael Corr of Jones Lang LaSalle. The landlord, CW Monument Circle Inc., was represented by Adam Broderick and John Robinson of Jones Lang LaSalle.  

-The Room Place leased 14,998 square feet at Greyhound Plaza, 14610-14790 N. U.S. 31, Westfield. The tenant was represented by Bill Mass of Mass Realty. The landlord, The Broadbent Co., was represented by Joe Kenney of Broadbent.

-Northwestern Mutual leased 6,464 square feet of office space at 965 Emerson Parkway, Greenwood. The tenant was represented by John Crisp and Spud Dick of Cassidy Turley. The landlord, Allen Commercial Group, represented itself.

U.S. 31 upgrade might begin in fall, INDOT says

August 8, 2013

INDOT said Wednesday it has awarded a $141 million contract for upgrades between 96th and 136th streets in Carmel to a joint venture between E&B Paving Inc. of Anderson and Gradex Inc. of Indianapolis.

Fire destroys three Fishers homes

August 28, 2013

Two firefighters suffered minor burns Tuesday afternoon during a fire that destroyed three homes in Fishers. The fire in the Sandstone Village neighborhood, near 116th Street and Brooks School Road, broke out in one home and quickly spread to the houses on each side. The cause is under investigation.

Man critical after beating

Indianapolis police took two people into custody Wednesday shortly after 6 a.m. following an attack that left a man with critical injuries. Police found the victim, who they believe was beaten, near 16th Street and Hawthorne Lane. They were able to track down the suspects near 21st Street and Arlington Avenue going through a white Mercedes. One of the suspects led police on a chase across rooftops before he was apprehended.

Well remains closed over bacteria

A popular artesian well has been closed in Carmel after tests showed the presence of E. coli and coliform, a bacteria that can indicate the presence of disease-causing organisms or pathogens. The well in Flowing Well Park, on 116th Street near Gray Road, was closed Monday. New tests taken Tuesday continued to find potentially harmful bacteria. Water experts are working to find the source of the contamination.

-Nexus Academy Blended Learning Schools leased 10,008 square feet at Glendale Town Center, 6101 N. Keystone Ave. The tenant was represented by Lynelle Noll and Nick Arterburn of CBRE. The landlord, Glendale Centre LLC, was represented by Andrew Hasbrook of Kite Realty Group.

-A&P Ventures LLC renewed its lease for 6,000 square feet of industrial space at 9319 9341 Castlegate Drive. The tenant was represented by Bryan Poynter of Cassidy Turley. The landlord, First Industrial Realty Trust, represented itself.

Construction fencing is up and trees are coming down in front of Fishers Town Hall in preparation for next month’s groundbreaking on The Depot at Nickel Plate, a mixed-use project that officials hope will launch a wave of downtown redevelopment.
