Zionsville Police Chief Rick Dowden is being investigated by Indiana State Police, according to Boone County Prosecutor Todd Meyer. He’s accused of stealing items from the department’s evidence room. Meyer said police have searched the Zionsville police station and Dowden’s home. Search warrants show authorities looked for video-surveillance tapes of police headquarters, a gun and a 50-inch plasma TV.
