  1. It seems O’Ward is falling into the trap many do. Legal immigrants are great. His story is a true American dream. To have an international event like this to celebrate America250 is perfect. If Trump wanted all American, he would have brought in an all American series. The issue is illegal immigration. O’Ward says “we are not doing any harm”. Most aren’t, but the criminals who came here are. The ones who can’t follow rules are. 4 members of an Amish family were killed yesterday by a person being held on an ICE Detainer. If he wasn’t here illegally those 4 would he home with their families. Some illegal aliens are doing harm

    1. What “all American series” are you referring to? Sprint cars? That’s probably even more difficult on the national mall. Nascar? Some NASCAR teams are sponsored by Toyota.

    2. Yes, and if you actually did your own research, your realize the bulk of the folks being locked up are doing no harm and are just being snatched to meet quotas. It would have been a better use of the money given to ICE to hire the judges needed to quickly process people out of the country … than build a substandard army that even the Russians would route.

  2. O’Ward is a legal immigrant. Like millions in the United States. Who ever doubted that they are an asset to the country? He obviously needs a refresher on his civics lesson. (Can’t wait for the race. There is nothing negative or controversial about it with race fans.)

    1. “ There is nothing negative or controversial about it with race fans.”

This is not correct, and would be as wrong as assuming that (say) all NASCAR fans were in alignment with keeping or banning Confederate flags at race tracks.

Whoever doubted the value of immigrants? I dunno, let’s remind ourselves what the current president once said:

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.”

  3. I’m glad to see-hear Pato came around after his first reaction and comments. Most of us IndyCar fans like the guy. He obviously had some counseling on the subject and he realized it’s all big time, and immigration has to be regulated, just like auto racing does. His statement of irony if he wins, will only be ironic to him. The rest of us have seen many foreign born racers and winners in IndyCar, and have never had a problem with it, even if IndyCar, now and under previous names, has always been an American league and sport.
