Louie’s Wine Dive & Mass Ave Kitchen, which had operated at 345 Massachusetts Ave. since 2015, has closed.

“As of Monday, March 8th, Louie’s Wine Dive is closed. It has been our pleasure sharing wine with you,” the business announced Tuesday on its Facebook page.

A call to the business Wednesday morning went unanswered.

Until last fall, Kansas City, Missouri-based Louie’s Wine Dive had two Indianapolis locations and seven total locations.

Louie’s Wine Dive & Ripple Kitchen, at 701 Broad Ripple Ave., closed in September. That location had been in operation since 2016.

When the Broad Ripple site closed, Louie’s Wine Dive was still operating the Massachusetts Avenue site along with two locations each in Iowa and Missouri and one each in Kansas and Tennessee.

The company’s website now lists only four locations: Missouri stores in Clayton and Kansas City; Des Moines, Iowa; and Overland Park, Kansas.

Locations in Coralville, Iowa, and Nashville, Tennessee, closed earlier this month, according to local media reports.

A call and email to the company’s corporate marketing director were not immediately returned Wednesday morning.

  1. Loved LWD at both locations… the food was very good, though a menu change about two years ago prompted an outcry for the return of some the customers’ favorites. They changed the recipe on many previously gluten and soy free offerings which excluded those as an enticing menu choices for customer dining visits. I’ve visited LWD in other areas outside of Indy, too. The management and training of staff was always a bit subpar, along with frequent management changes – this was a factor in customer service at all locations. Sitting at the bar gave the best service overall! Sad to see them go…
