Several new restaurants and retailers have recently opened their doors in Hamilton County. Here’s a rundown.

Jinya Ramen Bar

Jinya Ramen Bar opened its first Indiana location on Dec. 19 at Fishers District.

The restaurant at 9711 E. 116th St., Suite 310, has a menu that includes ramen, rice bowls, curry, salads, mini tacos and craft beers. Ramen dishes are served with noodles in a thick broth with toppings that include pork chashu, poached eggs and garlic.

The restaurant also offers vegetarian and gluten-free menu items.

“We’re excited to introduce Jinya’s contemporary Japanese dining to the Indianapolis community,” Jason Lam, the Fishers restaurant franchisee, said in written remarks. “There is nothing like Jinya in the area, so we are certain it will become a huge hit.”

Jinya Ramen Bar was founded in 2000 by Tomo Takahashi. The chain opened its first U.S. restaurant in 2010, and the Fishers location is Jinya’s 49th eatery.

Fishers District is an 18-acre mixed-use development that includes dining, retail, entertainment and retail options.

The city earlier this year announced a $650 million expansion of Fishers District that includes an arena for the Indy Fuel minor league hockey team.

Rail Cafe & Market

Rail Cafe & Market opened in late October in Westfield, nearly two years after the closure of Rail Epicurean, which served customers in a century-old barn from 2014 to 2020.

Rail Cafe & Market occupies a much newer building in Westfield, joining an Ace Hardware store and other tenants in the Grassy Branch Marketplace retail center at 3400 Nancy St.

Melanie Miles, who owns Rail with her husband, Toby Miles, told IBJ earlier this year the rebooted venture is reminiscent of Rail Epicurean’s original business model that combined grab-and-go sandwiches and pastries with a market stocked with local meats, cheeses and other grocery products.

The new 3,500-square-foot space is more than twice as large as operations at the renovated barn at 211 Park St.

Rail Cafe & Market features a counter for placing orders, tables where orders can be placed via QR code and a bar where customers can purchase beer and items such as a cold-smoked pork chop.

Garden Table

Garden Table, a locally based eatery and juicery, opened its third location Dec. 1 along the Monon Trail in Carmel.

Garden Table also has locations at 908 E. Westfield Blvd. in Broad Ripple and 342 Massachusetts Ave. in Indianapolis. The Broad Ripple restaurant opened in 2014, while the Mass Ave. location began serving customers in 2017.

The newest restaurant at 350 Monon Blvd., Suite 16, offers fresh-pressed juice, brunch and—unlike the Broad Ripple and Mass Ave. locations—dinner menu items.

The 3,800-square-foot Carmel restaurant is on the first floor of the Railyard at Midtown building. Social Cantina, a Mexican restaurant, opened in the building in 2021.

Green District

Louisville-based Green District opened its third Indianapolis area restaurant Dec. 15 at the First Internet Bank headquarters in Fishers.

Green District’s menu includes 11 chopped salads, wraps and grain bowls.

Along with 1,480-square-foot restaurant at 8701 E. 116th St., Green District operates restaurants at 28 Monument Circle and 1250 E. 86th St. in Indianapolis.

Petos Greek Cuisine

Petos Authentic Greek Cuisine recently relocated to Carmel from its previous spot in the Castleton area.

Petos opened Dec. 15 at 15 W. Main St., which was last home to Donatello’s Italian Restaurant.

The restaurant’s menu includes gyros, sandwiches and appetizers, such as spanakopita (filo dough stuffed with spinach, fetta and ricotta cheeses).

Something Splendid

Something Splendid began as an online shop in 2019. Now, it has a physical location at 217 Mill St. in Westfield.

Sisters Erynn and Elise Petruzzi and their friend Allison Pirtle opened the shop Nov. 17.

Something Splendid lets customers purchase a themed gift box or build their own with dozens of items that include candles, cookies, bath bombs, chocolates and mugs.

DollarStop PartyStop

DollarStop PartyStop, a locally owned convenience store, opened its second location Nov. 6 at Stony Creek Marketplace in Noblesville.

Co-owners Jay Estelle and Elizabeth Spirek Estelle opened the store at 15887 Cumberland Dr., Suite 107, about two months after the opening of their first location at 5868 E. 71st St. in Indianapolis.
