It took nearly two years to finalize design and financing for the first phase of Midtown, but its developer predicts that other components will fall into place quickly now that construction has started.
The Indianapolis-based brewery announced plans for a $5 million craft distillery and tap room in Carmel’s Midtown development, which is between City Center and the Arts & Design District.
Justin Moffett, principal of Carmel-based Old Town Development LLC, told the Carmel Plan Commission there has been strong interest in office space including a $25 million building anchored by Merchants Bank of Indiana.
Merchants Bank of Indiana plans to move its corporate headquarters into a 100,000-square-foot building to be constructed in Carmel’s Midtown development. The $25 million project also will contain a multi-vendor retail operation.
A $16 million, four-story building with a co-working space, and coffee and wine bar will be the first piece of the Midtown development.
