Taylor student dies in dorm
Officials are investigating the death of a Taylor University student who died on campus in a residence hall Wednesday. The Grant County Coroner’s Office said third-year student Josh Larkin’s death was “accidental and not suicide.” Taylor, a Christian college Upland, said it would release more information as it becomes available.
Man gets life for killing officer
Thomas Hardy, 61, was sentenced Thursday morning to life in prison without parole for the murder of Indianapolis police officer David Moore. Hardy pleaded guilty last month to shooting Moore during a traffic stop in January 2011. Hardy received an additional 40-year sentence on robbery and firearm charges. A plea agreement allowed Hardy to escape the death penalty.
