Indianapolis police are looking for a driver who was involved in an accident that killed a motorcyclist traveling south on North Meridian Street late Thursday. Officers responded to the crash near 12th Street at about 9:30 p.m. Witnesses said a green Oldsmobile Delta ’88 turned into the unidentified motorcyclist’s path, triggering the accident. The vehicle may have damage on the passenger side, police said.
More than half of Indiana’s counties are considered natural disaster areas because of this summer’s drought, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said Thursday. The designation allows farmers and ranchers in the 55 affected counties, mainly in the northern and southern portions of the state, to apply for low-interest federal emergency loans.
