The injured Indiana Fever star said she was “incredibly sad and disappointed” that she wouldn’t be able to play in the game or participate in Friday’s 3-point contest in Indianapolis.
The Republican governor’s statements came on the heels of a string of shootings involving youth in the city’s core, including one on July 5 that killed two minors, and just before Indianapolis hosts WNBA All-Star Weekend.
Clark, who has already missed nine games this season with injuries, is scheduled to participate in Friday night’s 3-point contest as part of the WNBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis. Then, on Saturday, she is expected to play in the All-Star Game.
The project’s plan calls for 43,000 square feet of retail space, 15,500 square feet of office space, up to 235 apartment units and a 574-space parking garage.
Officials on Monday also outlined multiple street closures—including complete closures of Monument Circle—likely to affect the flow of traffic during All-Star Weekend.
Interestingly, while sports have been very, very good to the company, management didn’t set out to make arenas and fieldhouses one of their specialties. It just sort of happened.
Robbins—who initially planned a career in sports medicine—told IBJ that the company’s foray into sports work began in earnest when it printed thousands of Indianapolis maps for the 2012 Super Bowl. It has grown from there.
Politicians on the state and city level have been quick to weigh in on downtown shootings. But those in charge of public safety say they don’t want ongoing law-enforcement efforts in the area to become a political football.
