No talks between Harley, owner of local site
Shelby County officials hope Harley-Davidson Inc. chooses a site next to Indianapolis for a new assembly plant, but the discussions
are so preliminary that the property owner has yet to hear the first word from the motorcycle company. Tim Shrout, managing
member of Indianapolis-based Cedar Run Investments LLC, said he thinks Harley officials are using the Indiana site along with
potential sites in Kentucky and Tennessee as leverage to gain concessions at an existing assembly plant in York, Penn. “I
think it’s a long shot,” Shrout said of his chances of selling land to accommodate the plant.
